BarCamp is an international, user-generated conference featuring short presentations, open discussions and demos by people from a diverse range of industries, backgrounds and walks of life
Today saw the fourth installation of Barcamp Beijing and yet again it has been a well organized event attended by some of the greatest minds and biggest hustlers across Beijing! It’s great to see the growth in attendance, participation and the level of involvement from both the local and expat communities. Events like this really help make Beijing the Silicon Valley of the East.
ikuramedia took two presentation slots this time, doubling down on our focus of helping startups to get started and do more faster.
Steve presented a live demo of his Mobile MVPs in Minutes presentation, based on his recent blog post of the same name. Lesson learned for live programming demos – check the resolution of the projector in advance! It was really tough showing the slickness of XCode at 800×600! At least the ‘buy your developers big monitors if you want them to code faster‘ message got across well!
Shlomo then followed this with his talk on Customer Development Hacking Tools. Our philosophy at ikuramedia is based around getting to the customer as fast as possible (customer development), and building for the customer as fast as possible (MVPs). For Customer Development we’ve been proud to have Steve mentoring for Startup Weekend NEXT in Beijing, and for MVPs our Concept to Creation app services or Angel Development programme could be the right fit for you! Alternatively, if you’re a developer looking to be more effective and valuable to startups – enquire about our PowerCamp program, two days of pair-programming based training on effective MVP building techniques.
